Welcome to

The system is broken. But not broken enough...

You are a glitch, an anomaly trapped inside a crumbling system. Every time you reach the goal, the world resets...but not completely.

The keys you touched? Gone.

The dev (your not-so-friendly narrator) is not happy about this...

With every jump, every destroyed key, and every reset, you chip away at the system’s stability. But maybe… just maybe… there’s something deeper to uncover.

Are you a bug to be squashed? Or the inevitable crash waiting to happen?

FEATURES:

Keyboard Chaos
Your world is built from keyboard keys... but you are a glitch! Press them, and the keys won’t be there in the next iteration. Plan your path wisely.

Endless Iterations
Each reset changes the level permanently. No two runs are the same.

Sassy Narrator
The dev (your grumpy guide) really wishes you'd stop breaking things. Too bad.

Glitchy Movement
Unlock powers that help you traverse the ever-decaying world.

CONTROLS:

A/D – Move left/right
SPACE/ W – Jump / Double Jump / Wall Jump
Shift – Run (while moving)
R – Reset the level (as if that will help...)
LMB – Menu and buttons when necessary
LMB/ X â€“ Skipping dialogue

The system is watching. The dev is fuming. And you? You’re just getting started.

ABOUT

I’m Sherlocklini and I embarked on this wild gamedev journey in December 2024.  Thanks to some life events - like wrapping up my doctorate and, well, growing a tiny human - I’ve got a bit of time to dive into this new hobby.

This is already my third game jam in just a few months. I did not prepare anything in advance and did all the art myself, occasionally roped in ChatGPT to help me with some code fixing. For SFX & music I relied solely on freely available, commercially usable sounds, but prepared the most using a soundmaker (Bfxr SoundMaker).

I really hope you like what I created within 48 hours!

- Thanks to my husband - for everything. My love. Always. -

PATCH NOTES

As stated by the Host of the Jam, we were allowed to update our game and page after the shortlist voting. I carefully reviewed the feedback and made a few minor adjustments.
To stay within the rules and remain transparent, here’s what I changed:

 - Changed the Cover to a GIF
- Added new Splash Screen
- Improved jumping mechanics
(Jumping speed and handling, Coyote Time, SPACE for jumping)
- Adapted a voice line
- Fixed music not playing again when giving up
- Fixed a bug stopping an animation of the player
- Slight adjustments to audio volumes
- Repositioned two keys to decrease level difficulty

I did not change or edit any assets!
The original file still is available (v1) and can be downloaded.

I can't wait to jump into this world and experience the chaos!

You look like the type of person who'd enjoy this jam: WOW JAM

They have a very interesting platform and are even offering prizes xD

Hi! You probably missed my comment on stream so I'm going to leave one here as well. This game is my personal favorite of this jam. Its only flaw is platforming aspect which was really not enjoyable. But believe me, I know how hard it is to make it right especially in 48h. But the idea behind this game is amazing. At first I was frustrated that I can't restart just last level and I'm forced to start from the beginning every time but when I finally realized what is going on here I was truly amazed and left deserved 5 stars.

Thank you so much for reaching out to provide your feedback! I really appreciate this. Yes. Player movement is still a challenge and I currently try to focus on improving on that. The Jam was a blast and I am highly motivated to proceed with game making and improve this platforming aspect! :) Thank you so much! <3

Hey. Love your game. I played it for the game jam. Is there a way to get in contact with you? Would love to chat and learn about your game dev journey so far.

Who did the art and audio design?

I prepared all graphics within 48 hours (including UI, animations, backgrounds etc.). Most Sound effects are created using Bfxr SoundMaker, some are found on Freesound. You can find the music here, freely available:

Good Old Times - HolFix Chiptune :)

Wait did you do the whole game on your own?

Yes :)

Really fun game. I was a bit confused on the first run, but after a quick reset I managed to destroy the game successfully. Very well done.

Haha, very good! Thank you so much :)

This is such a cool concept, follows the theme beautifully. It's also impressive as the 3rd submission of yours. I will be honest though; movement mechanics are a bit confusing.

yeah i dont understand what to do on rhe second screen , just seem to be stuck at the bottom with nowhere to go

Many thanks for your feedback! I am still learning regarding the player movement stuff. What was confusing here? I will try to improve for the next time :)
